You know you want one: a REAL cowboy hat. The best place to get one is at the iconic Paris Hatters, located at 119 Broadway. They’ve been in business since 1919 and have proved hats to everyone from Pope John Paul II to Bob Dylan. They’ll make sure you get the right hat and the right fit. Because of the temperate climate in San Antonio we’re partial to straw hats, but if you want one for winter wear you might consider felt.

A couple of tips: Store your hat brim-up; it will keep its shape better that way.  Don’t put your hat on the bed: it’s considered bad luck in rodeo circuits.

To get you in the mood, here’s a song by Chris Ledoux:

(Paris Hatters is about a mile from the Holiday Inn-Downtown, our event hotel. Turn right onto Cesar Chavez, the take the first left onto Santa Rosa. Walk six blocks, to Travis Street and turn right. Walk about seven blocks to Broadway, turn right, and there it is on the left.)
