An inexpensive and fun way to get around downtown San Antonio is on the streetcar, replicas of old trolleys. They are operated by VIA, San Antonio’s mass transit system, and only cost $1.10 per ride. The best deal is an all day pass for $4.00; they can tell you how to get one at the hotel desk (the closest stop is the VIA Downtown information Center at 211 W. Commerce, just a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Turn right at the hotel entrance and walk down Cesar Chavez to S. Flores and turn left. Just past San Fernando Cathedral you’ll intersect with W. Commerce, and it’s there on the corner.) With the day pass, you can hop on and off.
