Should I Bring My Dog? Probably Not. | Texas Trail Roundup

Should I Bring My Dog? Probably Not.

Although MOST of the walks on the Texas Trail Roundup are pet-friendly, if you do decide to bring your dog you will not be able to enter any buildings, which will limit your ability to enjoy everything the city has to offer.  With the exception of service animals, dogs are not permitted in the event hotel. Here, then, is a rundown of the pet-friendliness of the walks:

Friday, February 22
10 km  – No, (The passes goes through The Shops at RiverCenter, where dogs are not permitted.).
5 km – yes (but not in the Alamo)

Saturday, February 23
Yes on all walks, but they can’t go in park buildings or Mission Churches.  On the 42 km marathon, pet are not permitted on the Yanaguana Trail at Mission San Juan, except for service dogs.

Sunday, February 24
5 km and 12 km yes, but 23 km no (only service dogs are permitted in the Japanese Tea Gardens.)

Dogs, where permitted, must be leashed at all times.

You must clean up after your pet.

It is against the law in San Antonio to leave a pet in a car unattended.
