The Texas Trail Roundup is hosting a walk that starts at the Japanese Tea Garden, goes through Trinity University, wanders through the historic Monte Vista neighborhood and ends back at the Garden. Chose either a 10km or a 5 km route. Either walk is $3. Both routes are rated 2A because of the stairs at the Garden. Start your walk any time between 7:00 and 9:00 am and end by noon. The Jingu House will open ealry (10:00am) for lunch. Come walk with us!

We were a little nervous that the great gasoline panic of 2017 would keep folks away from our walk but we had 95 walkers show up, including walking friends from Austin, Kerrville, New Braunfels and Comfort. Plus, five first-time walkers! As you can see from the photo, the Japanese Tea Gardens are lovely and the weather was perfect (OK, a little hot, but still lovely.) Thanks for our friends at Jingu House for letting us set up the start point without charging us (we couldn’t have afforded it otherwise), for offering us a 10% discount at the restaurant and for inviting us back for another walk next year. Doesn’t get much better than this. If there was an award for having the prettiest start point, we’d win it, hands down. Can you see the koi in the pond?
